paypal do not help at all.. I guess they want to keep earning their commission per sale! Google are also no help. DMCA's work well. I have already shut down about 15 websites doing this. About 10 of them were from this same person (hihtv). A lot from this thread are already gone. 10 more to go.. Should be taken down this week. The worst part is that a lot of these people are not getting the product after purchasing from this person and it hurts our rep. And also, my customer service are answering questions from people that purchased from them and not us!
Feel bad to hear all that. Looks like a lot of wannabe scammers will get encouraged to do this even more. Bad times ahead. What if a vendor makes just around $50 off a product per day and sees a few copycats selling openly? It's gonna be too costly and time intensive to file DMCA's over and over again. We really need a mechanism to deal with such problems.
Good work in getting those one's shutdown Swerd, So far i haven't noticed any new ones pop up, which at the speed these guys work at is amazing. Just 5 or 6 of the ones in the second to last post of mine are still around.
Well its good they are getting shut down. I don't think it would be that hard to do it that fast. It's basically just copying the files from one host to another. The first site you set up would take the longest but after that it would be simple to ftp the files over to tons of hosts. I still can't believe this guy is doing that though. It looks like he spent a ton of money for all of the domains lol. Hopefully he doesn't make any of that money back!
Actually seems I might of spoken too soon. a few more sites appeared in the last few hours Solar9288.com affordableSolarWorks1.com pakcsolarvew.com plussoalrdiy.com
Ads showing for new sites solarpowerbuild.com affordablesolarworks1.com viednsolarpannel.com nowaesolardiy.com
I'd rather like this thread to be locked down. There's no fun telling everyone about this and giving them ideas about how to cheat vendors.
Those new domains are on the same host so my previous DMCA should have them all shut down. Its actually much easier for me to send a DMCA then it is for them to setup a new domain, but i would rather be doing something else!
It would probably be a lot of work. Well maybe not all that much but I don't think they would do that. The only way I can think of would be to put a redirect in the root of the domain.
all sites mentioned here are now shut down. If anybody notices any other please let me know. It's not hard to get rid of them. I spoke to their hosts legal dept and he said he can clearly see what this person is doing and did not hesitate to take action.
