Someone ripped my site?

    Hello people,

In the last week I've been getting adsense revenue but from some place else because it doesn't show up in my domain list.

So, I'm suspicious that someone has just copied one of my sites and possibly left a few of my google ads by mistake.

Is there anyone I can trace back my clicks? Can I ask googleadsense to check it for me?

    Cheers!

no you can't, you can always ask adsense, but i doubt if they will investigate it for you...

    Thanks for the reply.

My revenue and clicks have dived since also, not sure if this is related. Today's pittance of revenue is almost half from this unrecognised source. Grrr.

I had 5 sites that happened to. Between hacker and keylogger i had to regain control of 6 sites also. SO i know what your going through.

First YES someone probably copied source code of your site and put it on some free hosting site. I can not believe some people figure out that site is good rank and well designed and yet are not smart enough to change code to all thier links.

Try looking at your source code or pages and copy the numbers and urls for your programs. Now google the code or urls. Yahoo is another one to try also. Sometimes you can find links that you do not own or did not trade site with. If you have your urls listed on front page try checking where those urls are listed.

I bet sooner or latter some site will show up and have your urls or code on it and you have no idea who owns that site. I also hate how people take your sites description in google and add it to thier site with redirection link back to your site. This can hurt search results sometimes google picks up redirection as your link.

I emailed google about this they told me not to worry but i have seen 3 of my sites listed under redirections and I never did this myself.

    Good luck

I am not sure what the names of them are, but there are programs/code you can put onto your pages that prevents people from copying and pasting them.

Maybe someone else here knows what I am talking about.

It all depends on the webhost co-operation.

I have successfully closed down pirate webpages with Lycos / Geocities but not with MSN / Myspace who ask you to write an official letter to someone based somewhere...

I suggest you to trace your content by searching on Google some unique sentence that is on your website. This is how I proceed to identify websites who copied my content.

there isn't too much you can do about someone taking your content. Its just words, did you trademark them??

ok yes the DMCA offers some protection, but really more for products, not necessarily for content. content can be manipulated so many ways, anyone can turn it into their own, all you can do is move on.

I'm sorry about it all. I know how it is when someone steals your work. I've done some reviews in the past and someone jacked two of them, posted them elsewhere claiming it was his reviews...luckly they were taken down my the host after MANY emails by me.
