Someone had their vbulletin license revoked for moral reasons only

    Dear Mister Spinks,

Please explain yourself, because what you are saying on this forum does not match up with what you have said on digg and to the licensees at HongFire.com. If you do not have the capability to revoke any VB license nor did you revoke that one, then why did you state very clearly in your e-mail to HongFire that
I do believe that you are lying, sir.

    http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:zxB1O2wgzPMJ:www.hongfire.com/vbulletin.txt

Unfortunately, HF has taken this file off their site, and so I cannot link to it directly. Furthermore, the posts on vbulletin.com where Jelsoft staff have publically stated that the 'AUP' that Spinks kept mentioning simply does not exist seem to have disappeared. I wonder how that happened?

Don't think you can get away with lying on the internet, Spinks; you WILL get caught.

I belive pirate reports is a fraud company (not sure what is the right word to use)

    I had reported 2 sites that are using illegal vbulletin license but this company didnt not take any action about them ( now I know why because they were busy in matters like this {which is not their businesses)}

These sites were reported more than two weeks ago... and sites are still online

Oh no! Jelsoft isn't omnipotent! What a shocker.
Either the licenses turned out to be valid after all or it is taking them some time to take the forums down. Not every host is easy to work with.

And about this matter: I'm still waiting for evidence that this actually happened. For all I know it's this guy from hongfire who has a grudge and wants to get back at Jelsoft.

Oh come on Icheb, don't be so dense.

What could Jelsoft do (beside what was done through PR) that could possibly offend someone? Not update quickly enough?

If you call it dense when I don't simply take someone's word when it comes to stuff like this, then fine. I rather be dense than gullible.

I doubt anyone will sue. My fear is that this will get swept under the rug.

    I hope not....

Vbulletin almost have monopoly on forum software.

And Monopoly is bad!

Tomorrow they will come after me, you or someone else and say your site has
blah blah content and we are revoking your license.

One will be screwed badly as its not a easy to switch software.

No, I disagree about the monopoly. There are plenty of other forums out there - vBulletin is just the one you notice the most as most successful forum owners believe it to be the best.

Oh, this is called mismanagement. I was shocked of as they are known for their support and management. Atleast, they rethought and gave a wise decision.

Can you think of another software that is so prominent on the bigger boards on the net? If it ain't custom, it's generally vB.

So, can someone finally present some actual EVIDENCE? Or shall we remain gullible fools who believe everything that Hongfire guy says?

Just because the biggest boards on the net are vbulletin including the one were using, and the one i use (because its much better than ipb) for my site, doesn't mean its a monopoly.

I can list far more IPB's than i can vbulletins and PHPBB's(god save us).

Of course not, but the OP also said its "almost" a monopoly, not "is" a monopoly.

I suppose, how long is a piece of string.

Linux is almost a monopoly by that sense :p

Do you read anything before adding your ignorant 2 cents in? Nowhere did I say the company that makes VBulletin are responsible for anything and in fact said they have a completely opposite view of the Spinks guy / piratereports.com which can be noted by the posts on half a dozen websites including vbulletins own forum. Perhaps you should read before talking out of your ass?

Did YOU read anything that *I* wrote here? I STILL think that the Hongfire guy made all of this shit up. Or are YOU too dumb to understand what I wrote?
