Fortunately on my part, the hacker simply warned me, but as I'm new to making web sites, I'm not sure how to secure my web site against future attacks. Anyone mind pointing me in the right direction of what to do to fix this and prevent this from happening again? www.dreaminnovation.com dr.a7sass is the hacker's signature name I believe.. Situation: He only had access to my wordpress account, not my server's control panel. I did get my log in information and change back my password. Even though somehow he edited the admin username to khaled even though you technically can't on wordpress... I believe he must've been able to do this while I was on an unsecured network.
I can help you secure your website through a number of different ways. Contact me at geekforhim.com/portfolio if you need help.
What I do is to always keep wordpress up to date and block important folders (wp-admin) with htaccess only alowing IPs from a certain pool access these folders
Okay, just used Wordpress Exploit Scanner, and deleted a lot of coding the hacker messed up. I just reuploaded thesis and it appears to be alright now.
Firstly its important make a habit of changing your passwords on every short time periods. It will at least reduce some risks.
There is wordpress plugin that will do the work for you... just search in plugin search wordpress security
Like many others said, Update your Wordpress to the latest version. I think 75% of the time its due to the old version of wordpress, so yea always keep the latest version.
