Actually I think he is correct , that is not the usual Googlebot , the IP (72.14.193.#) is not correct and this

"Google Wireless Transcoder" those meters are too slow to pick up bots ( very rarely you see them)

It looks like a browser using Google Wireless Transcoder someone will know what this is ?

Perhaps it is Google Bot. if you are adsense or adwords user, and in case you have a red flag on you, then there is chance they visit you manually before banning you.

Whether its a google bot or adsense bot or someone from google visiting your site, if your site do not have any illegal or such stuff, then you don't have to worry about it, no matter who is visiting your site

 

It's most likely someone using a google product like the google web accelorator
If it's the google wireless transcoder, then it's the googlebot for mobile phones.

 

Maybe it was someone using the Google's WiFi hotspots

Same thing is happenning with a water4gas site in my signature last few days. I am using stat counter, and have it on many sites, but never saw this before.

Here is how it looks :

 

Isaw thism same behavior, but from some MSN bots, that are trying to cheat webmasters.
I hope that google is not doing the same.

I get that most days on sitemeter, but then i am using google accelerator and it just happens to go to the same pages that i do

It shows as a google ip (last one was 66.249.85.# (Google) )

Sometimes it shows as

its definitely the BOTS

 

google bots do visit wbesites and crawl them for information, it happens to me, so don't worry about it it's all part of the indexing process. Think about it if google wanted to spy covertly on your site they would allow their IP address to appear on tracking stats would they?
