Someone from Google clicked on my ads

I was checking my logs this morning and noticed something strange. Someone from a Google IP address clicked on my ads twice. It seems that they did a manual search using 2 different keyword phrases and clicked on the ads twice. Has anyone ever had this happen? Thanks

Have you clicked on your ads from your account? This will show as coming from Google.

Google doesn't go around clicking on ads to cheat you. It's likely a Google employee during their break was doing a search, saw your ad which attracted them so they clicked.

No I did not click on my own ad. I don't think that it would be an employee since all my ads are local to Houston Texas. I was not charged for the clicks but they showed up in my server logs. It was the same IP that they have crawled my site from in the past. Previously when my site was crawled they would use my site name as the keyword. The past three times they have used actual keyword phrases. And they were very descriptive.

You can look over your server logs or use third party software. I use Prosper 202.

You can get some good IP lookup plugins if you use wordpress. I recommend Visitor Maps - gives lots of who is info.

I cant help you i am afraid. It does seem kinda weird, but if its only two clicks dont worry about it. Hopefully it was some sort of one time event. If it happens daily though definitely contact them.

is an IP-lookup a must-have or a recommendation ? or is it just out of curiosity that people tend to use it ? just wondering..
