Yes this happens with search engines. Somtimes during thir database maintainance or other book keeping we loose position but then it goes back to normal. Yes sometimes we really go down though But yes traffic from MSN is a major concern for most webmaster. Though it is easy to get top listed but it takes ages to get real visitors from MSN. We have to wait till MSN becomes a popular search engine. As far as result is concerned MSN provides better result than google but google has settled in the heart of people and hence it would take time for MSN to grow up.
Not agree. Looks like previous msn update, they are just testing something and everything will go back to normal soon. But when?
This update was not bad enough to warrant going back to the previous algo...they do need to tweak it more still though, giving more preference to root domain pages than interior pages, lessening the trust factor (how does wafflehouse.com rank on page 2 for 'credit cards'?), and continue to index but not rank blogs for competitive searches that they probably aren't qualified for.
I have several sites with exactly the same optimisation policy, some of them are still fine but some have gone to nowhere on the serp. I don't know if I should be happy or sad. But my main problem is that MSN does not index large sites any more, not that it indexes small sites easily but I am certain that it has failed to keep up with its past performance of quick indexing.
No changes in the MSN SERPs. Either they like this new algo or they cant figure out how to put it back the wayit was.
It seem better today. One of my sites appeard again but I don't hold my breath, another might have gone down and I don't know yet.
The index page of one of my websites returned back to index, but not listed in results at all damn, from about 500-700 uniques a day to 30-50
This is interesting. A month ago MSN stopped crawling my sites. Completely. That was almost exactly the time my pages dropped from their serps, eventually resulting in a loss of 100% of MSN traffic. Two days ago the MSN bot returned big time. This morning as I was looking through yesterday's logs I noticed I had MSN traffic again. Not a lot ... just a trickle. But at least some. A few of my pages have reappeared in the top 50 spots in MSN for secondary keywords. Nothing yet for major keywords. Maybe this is hope.
