Someone farted at MSN.

Many of my sites that just got spanked had both of those though.

Seems like my home pages are nowhere to be found, and my best ranking pages are interior pages.

 

I have been following the spyware scene and noticed for some of my keywords that the spam was actually cleaned up. Maybe they are trying a new algorithm.

 

Yeah me too. Suddenly, some of my websites that were ranked high on MSN have been pushed down.

I wonder if MSN has been updating their search algorithm.

 

This shiftaround hasnt stopped yet, I am seeing different results yet again today MSN is definately upto something.

 

Seems they are re-emerging, though not same position
Those dissapeared from #1 & 2 are back at #20 ~ 50 today. Hope they settle back at older position.
Anyone else?

 

It's not just old data from what I see.

 

Some are back, thank goodness. Some aren't....

 

Im still at #1 in MSN, but some lameass spammy site is listed at #2.

I think Gates beefed and stank up the whole place.

1) Live.com is supposed to be the same as search.msn.com, msn.com, or any other MSN Search URL. The differences are in the UI, not the AI.

2) We did indeed roll out a new Net this week. Unfortunately, an unrealted event earlier in the week allowed about 100M pages into the index without filtering. A great number of these pages were very poor.

3) These two events took effect at the same time, and event #2 was about 2x as large as event #1.

What's with all these accidents? Don't they have a testing department?

 

how exactly would you test it? I think this may be one of those things that needs to be released to be than further fine tuned. Hence the results lately.

 

I dunno....take an old cache and run the algorithms on it.

Decent ranking here. The guy who farted at MSN was actually controlling Aquarium related stuffs, so travel sites escaped.

 

SVZ I think if it was that easy today would not be happening.

 

I held a #2 position for a major keyword, and recently dropped to #21 in the past 2 days.

 

I can't complain when my sites drops because I do a lot of exprience on them but just today my main competitor dropped a few positions.
They are very old and play very clean, I don't see a reason that they should lose several positions so suddenly.

I went from #2 in my major keyword to page 4 today!!!!

 

i was #1 for all of my keywords except 'website promotion' i was #28, now i'm #2 > #7!!! NOT FAIR!! Anyway i don't get traffic from MSN Search
