 I typed the url www.best-web-browser.com in google search window to see what the results were and www.getgooglefirefox.com/ comes up it has the same layout and same site name I don't know how this happened do you have any suggestions. Did he do a site rip from me and add his own adsense ID. it is a referral site so all the advertising i do he gets possibly.

I see what you are saying. Do a WHOIS search and see where this guy is located. You can choose to contact him if you truly believe he ripped you off. Where did you get your own layout??

What do i threaten him with? legal action...or contact ISP. I don't know what to say or how to go about it.

Who could I contact to straighten this out if he doesn't co-operate.

    Thanks,

I contacted the guy who sold me this site and told him the details. And this is how he replied.

Yes, it appears they copied the site exactly.

Well I think he sold a duplicate site the same as mine possibly.

I have contacted the guy who owns getgooglefirefox and asked if he purchased the site and from who or if he duplicated the site so I will wait and see!

    Hey there,

I had a similar problem before.

Unfortunately, contact the host does little good unless you have something legal enforcing the DMCA (digital millenium copyright act).

Hope it works out for you.

    Sincerely,
    Travis Walters

Not that the code for either is anything to brag about - though in this case it at least proves it's the same thing.

      <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" alt="" border="0" height="1" width="28"></td>
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" alt="" border="0" height="1" width="12"></td>
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" alt="" border="0" height="1" width="17"></td>
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" alt="" border="0" height="1" width="245"></td>
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" alt="" border="0" height="1" width="15"></td>
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" alt="" border="0" height="1" width="14"></td>
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" alt="" border="0" height="1" width="33"></td>
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" alt="" border="0" height="1" width="36"></td>
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" alt="" border="0" height="1" width="45"></td>
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" alt="" border="0" height="1" width="158"></td>
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" alt="" border="0" height="1" width="52"></td>
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" alt="" border="0" height="1" width="45"></td>
       <td><img src="images/spacer.gif" alt="" border="0" height="1" width="1"></td>

    Code (markup):
SERIOUSLY, WTF? When did we get to 1997?

hhmm.. this is a tough one.

You seem to have landed on the same template. Unfortunately, if he can prove to you that he bought it from a site then you can't get him for it.

To be honest, if this is a template like from templatemonster.com or something , most likely 50 other people could have bought the same exact thing. If you have the site copyrighted from the gov office then you can chase after him. You have to really prove that you are the originator of this site design.

    ^___________________^

I have seen worse coding though.. stuff though.. like MS-Word created websites..

    back to the topic..

You might want to see where he's hosting his website first... see their ToS and decide from there.. I really doubt there's anything you can do...

Anyway... if this is your own website at least you get to know that yours is being copied.. and in the end if there's nothing you can do about it.. just think that design theft or plagarism is some form of flattery...^_________^

The sheister didn't reply back I will contact his host now and see. And the site was purchased from a fella on here for $40 or something like that. I thought being it's a free product I would make that back in no time since FF is the best browser and gaining marketshare from IE. I better just stick to gaming sites where atleast I make some money:(

It is restricted to the number of web pages. Also the $349 will be a template design (either they provide or buy from me) , the custom design is always more. :)

Mostly the $349 are for people who only need 1 to 3 pages. I do have some of this.

$40? He's probably sold the site a few times over. Can't blame him, $40 is nothing.

For just three pages, that's roughly inline with my own rates as I charge by the page - though I scale it based on the complexity of the page and how different said page would be from the others...

I'm the owner of getgooglefirefox.com. I purchased this site about 6 months ago from a dutch guy. He claimed he made it himself but he didn't have the PSD anymore, so I'm not really tempted to believe his story.

I'll take down the site this weekend pending his explaination.

@XTreme: I didn't duplicate that site. Please change your remark and remove my e-mail address.
