Hi, I have a blog over at www.systemdiary.com and found this guys site www.thetechlife.org who is coping my posts word for word even with my spelling mistakes. And also hotlinking my images. He denys that he copied it from my site, even though all the hotlinks are there. Any ideas on what to do?
1. Run a whois check. 1b. I did this for you. Unfortunately, this is what you get: 2. I've highlighted which points might be useful. You can go two routes here: 2a - Send an email to the email listed there and ask for the contact info because you need it for legal issues 2b - Go to ixwebhosting and find their support section. There should be some sort of "report abuse" section. Send them the information, and they'll shut his site down, if they're a legit host. 3 - Send a Cease & Desist Order to the email listed and ask that it get forwarded to the proper owner of the website 4 - If it goes further, threaten legal action. You don't necessarily have to go through with it, but after you send a Cease & Desist, if he continues, I'd consult an attorney.
Depending on how much you make, taking them to court can be expensive. The cease and desist should be enough though to scare him out of it.
I dont want to go to the court it takes a lot of time and money. I found my way its only temporary but may be he learn something I blocked his hotlinks by changing the .htaccess file. take a look on his site now. Every picture he stole from me been changed to the ....... you'll see
ok he chaged pictures already, but he still hosting them form somebody else. And posts still copied from me.
Personally, I'd make sure there's no backlink on his site to yours, find a few linkfarms, and add his url to it. I think 'owned' is the correct vernacular.
Have a look guys http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=619744 same case with me, we have to do something, this guy is copying content!
Contact the host if I remember right they have to take it down if you send a cease and desist notifying them of the potential copyright infringement.
First - Mail him and tell him to stop and delete the posts or pay for them Second - If he doesn't listen, contact his host and ad provider Good luck
