Someone copied one of my websites design and graphics

I tried to contact the person but got no response.

Which steps / actions should I take ?

I actually paid for the design, so it's a pain in the ### that someone stole the design and graphics

From an old friend running a small web design company in his spare time.

Could it be that he sold the design to somebody else? Its easy for people to copy designs. It really sucks.. hope there's a way you can get them to remove it.

I can see the person copied the html, he even forgot to change the google analytics to his own account for the first 2 weeks.

Anyone have any idea of where one can complain. Maybe direct to the host ?

I dont think you can complain if it wasn't made by big company who copyright there templates eg - template monster.

you could ask him politely and see how he responds.

Do a Whois on his domain.

Contact the registrar and his host.

That way, atleast one of them is bound to be in the USA, and if you write a good letter that sounds like you're ready to sue the pants off them, they'll take it off right away.
