Even if there's no script issue, if the OP had announced the use of "article checker" in business before you, then he has first use rights to it with or without an actual trademark registration, and you may be violating that trademark with your domain name alone. While you can create a similar product, you can't release it legally under the same product / service name. And as a result of you choosing to act like an ass, I hope they at least look into pursuing that.

Again, I welcome the opportunity here. How am I an ass? I am just pointing out Side B of this story and some 'Directors Cut' footage on this issue. You should welcome that chance to read about my conquests.

Sorry no one asked you to Prom but you don't have to start name calling.

I would make attempts to talk to the website owner, first. Then I would contact the host and take it from there. Those are just my opinions.

there is no need for a lawyer - because just the fees will be worth years of revenue. second - get in touch with the website.
Do u have any copyrights for the script? its like saying: i own the site www.miniclip.com -total sucess. then, one day, another person comes and takes MY online arcade idea to make www.shockwave.com. there is no legal issue here. if the person was smart enought to "script the script" by himself - its good to go.

Its not like google start threads on forums saying 'oooh bit jimmy mcginty has a search engine just like ours....' if you're ideas good you should protect it simple as that. Otherwise you end up with bizzare name calling sessions like this. I'm working on something now, and when i've finished with it people won't even be able to talk about it with a license file :p

To the poster a couple of posts up, I think half the world are probably idiots..

I was just thinking the SAME thing akula
however I'm not sure I like the self-righteousness and bravado of mr.articlechecker
to come in here and explain yourself is fine
but to come in here and wax poetic about your achievements is about as becoming as a chimpanzee wailing on his chest shouting "Look at ME! Look at ME!"
I mean seriously, this isn't grade school
quite honestly I couldn't give a rats a$$ about what you did last month and what you're doing this month
however it does give a faint glimmer into your overall character
    I don't know - maybe you've got a small penis
    that would explain a lot.

    valve-hosting,
    I didn't say I don't give a rats a$$ about ANYONE
    I think I was very specific :)
yes, members here share their achievements frequently
that's wonderful and I'm all for that
although having an ounce of humility also fits nicely alongside healthy self-esteem if you know what I mean
his post was antagonizing - pure and simple
how many times does he mention "being owned"
come on now - surely you can see the difference here

it's not as if I don't understand him being upset and irritated by this whole situation in general
I just don't agree with how he's chosen to respond to the situation
I think it was childish and petty and reminded me of grade-school antics
    but that's just MHO.
