someone constatly clicking on your adverts

hypothetically speaking, if someone stated on MSN messenger that they were clicking on your adverts constatly even after they have been asked to stop, and you could see a marked increase in your CTR, would you contact google, let them know what is going on and end up getting banned because of this person. Or keep quite, say nothing and hope google dont check your account, but run the chance of getting banned anyway

Depending how many times they click I am sure google will spot the duplicate clicks automatically.

Not sure whether they will ban you though. I suggest telling them about it.

10-20 clicks per day, up from 1 or 2 perday.

I will email them, and send a transcript of the conversation I had with the person in which I asked him to stop.

Definitely send Google everything you can.

I know the money on your report screen probably looks better than usual, but remember that you don't get the money until Google audits the numbers, and if they audit them they'll notice the false clicks.

A friend had a click bomb of around 15-20 clicks one day, told Google, and he got a response and still got paid -- they said it didn't look fishy. Who knows, though. Don't risk it over a few pennies.

Yup, make sure you e-mail Google and send them everything you have.

I will dig out the MSN transcript, and report it to them.

Even if I get banned, at least I know, I have told them about what he is doing, and that it isnt my fault, I am not asking him to click them, I asked him to stop.

I use the free analytics script from www.bbclone.de for many reasons. One that i have found which helps is for click fraud. Check it out. It's in PHP, but you can get it to work with .html or .htm extensions as well.

Also, you can run a trial with www.clickdefense.com and a nice little message will pop-up warning them to knock it the hell off. You can also view the IP address of the jerk-ass doing it.

    Good luck.

Thanks for those links, I will definatly look into adding them.

I have emailed Google and put in a copy of the MSN conversation. I said that I expected to be banned as it was a violation of their TOS, but I cant sit back and allow him to do this.

I am hoping that as I contacted them, I wont get banned, I havent asked for these clicks, but I am due a payment this month from valid clicks, that have taken over 1 year to gain, so who knows what will happen.

I will let you know when google get back to me.

Just as I thought, I contacted them to let them know what this person was doing and showed them the msn conversation and the adverts have stopped showing. looks like I am banned because of someone elses actions. 100% not my fault, but I lose out. Great.

send a letter to yourself asking them to stop :p

    just kidding.

but don't be afraid to communicate with google. if you don't, they'll just assume the worst.
