    Hi,

I have checked my stats and have noticed that someone has copied the whole of my site. The thing is that they have done it badly.

Most of my sites links are still in tact and most of the information on the site is exactly the same as my word by word.

What do you think I should do?

He may be not using it to make lots of money as he may just be using it for his own use, but I have a good knowledge of SEO and I know that something like this will count as duplicate content and could affect my sites rankings considerably.

In other words, I have a ranking at number 5 out of about 33,000,000 results in google and also a ranking of 37 out of about 133,000,000 results in google. Plus the site is ranked much better in Yahoo and MSN than what it is ranked in Google.

Now if this site gets popular then my site could get penelized and I could loose all my good rankings and 3 years worth of work that I have put into this site.

    My site is: http://www.affiliateseeking.com
    Their site is: http://www33.websamba.com/ranmoran/index.htm

It looks as if they have add paid to read emails, paid to surf programs and also added their own ppc search engines. Everything else is the same practically word 4 word.

I have a feeling that it could be a minor or somebody that doesn't know much about how to make something that doesn't look like my content.

What do you think I should do, do you think it is best to contact him as he has managed to change the contact email to his own. If he don't remove it then do you think I should try to find the web hosting provider and tell them about this situation.

By the looks of things it does seem like it is hosted on a free server.

You can email their host and they should be able to help you.

Someone copied several aticles off my website wihtout the proper credit, and when I contacted her she was unwilling to remove them. I contacted her host, proved it was my content, and they gave her 48 hours to remove the content before they would shut her down.

She took my articles off immeditely.

I have personally contacted the person and if they do not take it down soon then I will send him/her another email. If they still don't comply with what I am asking then I will go to the next stage of this situation, which would be contacting the web hosting provider.

Someone did the same to me, and even kept my links on it too. The only thing they changed was page colour. All the content was duplicate.
It is on a free hosted site, I contacted the main company Allstarz.org and they never reply. I don't know what to do either.

Once I personally contacted this bloke, I asked him why he has copied my site, I told him that do you know you are breaking the copywrite laws. I also told him that copying my site is a disadvantage to my business even though you have all most of the links still pointing to my site. I also told him to please take it down ASAP or I will have to take the situation further.

I also mention to him/her that it is really nice that you find my site interesting and useful, but all I ask is that you don't copy it.

About less than an hour after I emailed him/her I had an email from him/her and he/she said that I was about to change it very shortly anyway.

I checked a about 3 hours later and most of my content has been taken down, but he still has a few links pointing to my site and he also still has some extact snippets of my sites text in his site.

So if I don't seem that changed shortly I will be sending another email of to him to ask him to do the changes with some of the text and sort the links out.

Have you tried contacting the person reasponsible first. If you can't get into contact with him and the web hosting provider by email, then I would suggest that you find a phone number on the web hosting provider.

It is something that you should not forget about as at the end of the day it is going to be your business and had work that will be loosing out.

If after your initial email to him he does not remove your material I would ask him if he wants the letter from your solicitor sent to his home address or if he has a legal representative it should be sent to, you could say something like you are looking for $100 000 in compensation for loss of earnings.

It might just scare him in to removing the content.

Hi John, there is no contact name for the person, and I can't find an email for who owns, or is hosting allstarz.org. They only have a 'submit info' type box, which they dont reply too.
