Recently, I went to check out a parked domain I have and found myself at a SEDO parked web page. Seeing as the domain was parked with my registrar GoDaddy, I was alarmed. I went into my GoDaddy account and changed the nameservers to a web host I have while throwing up a sample home page. Within a few hours my sample page did show. Also, GoDaddy shows me as having full control over the domain so it does not appear to be a hack attempt at the registrar level. Also, none of my other domains appear to be affected. Note, I have owned this domain for several years and the cached copy of the GoDaddy parked page shows as being accessed as recently as May so this had to happen very recently. The two most likely explanations for this are 1) Somehow another registrar managed to sell this domain to another individual despite my owning it and now they can submit nameserver record changes as well as me 2) Somebody figured out how to submit a phony nameserver record to the primary DNS servers and hijack the domain routing. So I am wondering what to do at this point. Does anybody have any similar stories or ideas? Thanks.
