Hi, abit new to this wordpress thingy, hopefully someone can provide me with the help on these - 1. How do i make the URL of my post as to my post title ? example www.abc.com/new-post 2. Abt widgets. I heard alot abt them, what the hell are these?! 3. How to my make a site index in Wordpress ? Do i have to create a new page / post, and just make a link for all the post i make ? Thanks !
1. Just change your permalink structure. (Under "Options") Choose "custom" and use /%postname%/ Code (markup): in the box.
Widgets are an add on for wordpress, with widgets you can easily change the content on your sidebar or other parts of your site (for example, add recent comments, posts etc...) Better & official advice can be found here: http://automattic.com/code/widgets/ Good luck.
Looks like the first two were answered. As far as sitemaps go, it is easiest to use a plugin such as Google Sitemap Generator
Good thread, I can use this information too. I really like wordpress myself, especially the different themes, a link was put on another forum I am on that takes you to a free wordpress theme generator. If you want it Pm me for the link. I am still too new to offer links.
