As he (widedesigns) said on SP, you might have just added the domain to your cpanel account, which means you are not the actual owner of the domain.

Either you just were lucky or you may have done it on purpose, knowingly the domain didn't have a landing page/cpanel account.

    Get over it.

Wow. This is sad. Sad because I was getting into the domain business. Thanks for the heads up, really appreciate it. The world is full of shitty people.

i feel may be the victim given access to his hosting account for some changes or addition or design etc to a third party in site point forum..

and some how maybe the domain control panel access login password and hosting access login password may be the same..

so the fraudster easily changed his ns1. ns2 information and hijacked the domain..

if the original owner still have the payment information (paypal batch or credit card statement) he or she can take a screen shot and give it to the domain register (in this case hostmonster)

and soon he will get back his domain.

i feel the victim here is somehow responsible for what has happend.. because its hard to take ur email address (which only needs a login n pass) .. so how the hacker taken ur domain name?

and for the host monster.. or the domain register .. i feel they are acting like a children here.. its bad for their reputation..

they should as soon as possible help the victim

I saw your auction at sitePoint way before. I check on sitePoint marketplace everyday, and visited your site a couple of times before, from sitepoint. At first i thought your the fraud, but looking it over, i think you've just been ripped by hostmonster.

This problem happened just because your *unreliable* registrar don't let you have any access to the contact details/dns for the domain. The domain ISN'T yours until you see your name on the Admin contact on the registry.

You should transfer your domain to a much more reliable registrar, in which you have the access to change the dns anytime you like w/out contacting the registrar. This is much more secured, different registrar, different host.

Good luck, man. Anyway, I'm a Naruto fan too. :D

Just a thought: Did you "buy" this domain and Hostmonster account from someone else? I suspect possibly someone had put that domain in their Hostmonster cPanel account as they saw the nameservers pointed to Hostmonster but it was not yet set up, then scammed you by selling it to you when they didn't actually own it.
