Has anyone heard of this and knows how to fix this? Every time I try to go to google.com, I get redirected to spybouncer.com, and some other advertisements. Not being picked up in any virus scans. HELP!

It seems more of a spyware problem then a virus. Try downloading spybot

Check your host file under windows>system32>drivers>etc
Right click and open in notepad, see if google is redirected to that site.

Plus do a complete system scan for spyware/virus.

    Hmm...that is a virus that I wouldn't mind if it re-directed to MSN.com...
Ha! Ha! Ha! Hmm...better go check my sites to see if my PR just dropped because of that little wise crack.

tried hijackthis, spybot and trend pc antivirus. NO luck. Tried the solution above from symantec, but no good. Checked thru the registry and most values that it said the virus puts in the registry were not there.

    Any other ideas?

I've been using Spy Sweeper from webroot.com and highly recommend it. It may find and eliminate the problem.

For FFFFF's sake, read threads before you post your "pearls of wisdom"

Spybot, Adaware, etc don't even pick up on these

    You need to use HijackThis!

Identify it as a 04, and it'll be a random EXE, there'll be two files, it's usually like 8438143.exe

You can find the same file in c:/windows/sys32/ and delete it from there, reboot and it should be gone until you get it again.

Are you using IE7 Beta2 by any change? I had alot of spyware from it...uninstalled and IE6 is fine. But I still prefer firefox...

Yeah. That's the best advice on earth. We should all get together and make a volunteer website where we advise and persaude people to download FireFox. We could call it... umm... SpreadFireFox.

    *goes off for a bit*

Crap! That's already taken. I always invent things far to late. I did the same with cheese on toast yesterday.

Your browser has been hijacked. Have you installed "SpyBouncer", an 'anti-spyware' app?
    http://66.102.9.104/search?q=cache:...bouncer.com+browser+hijack&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1

You can get HiJackThis from here:
    http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

So much for a more secure browser

It's very nice actually mcfox, sholuldn't bash it before you use it lol

THey do tabbed browsing better than firefox actually! There's an "empty" tab that you can click on to create a new tab, If find myself forgetting the key combo to create a new tab in firefox all the time

the CSS works better as well...and PNG alpha transparency is fixed, but im gonna wait for it to go gold
