I know their system at this point and what type of insurance, etc to get. I could expand that part of the business overnight if I chose to but the headache isn't worth it. They are being sold off soon anyway as they are dragging down the main An Post. The SDS division is losing millions while An Post is doing quite well. Not sure if it will mean better service or not when its in private hands.
There's a lovely scene in a swedish movie about a group of robbers/conmen who in preparation for a hit has stolen a police car. Then when leaving it on the street unlocked one of them says: "Shouldn't we lock it?" and the other guy replies: "Why? Nobody steals a police car". Sorry for the off-off-topic post
You don't, you close up shop We never tried to claim - do you get it on normal post? Nothing we sent recorded in the end actually went astray.
LOL, it's your party, you started it CityLink has been the best for us in terms of reliability, consistency etc. But InterLink is cheaper and as good so we switeched to them. Also used ParcelForce a lot but they;re one and the same as RM so you can picture the service. Not bad in terms of delivering the goods but it's those times when it does go wrong that you experience how they really are.
Nah, took me ages to get a PR4 on that bugger! Actually, it didn't, it went from 0 to 4 in one update. Anyways, we've got plans for it in the future and it was a mix of ebay and web sales so a difficult thing to sell. Cheers.
I just sold an item to a lady in England, I was telling her about the last package we shipped to England (same item) and that we ship US mail from here and the last one disappeared in San Francisco after going on the ship. I always thought it was stolen in Frisco and now I am wondering what part of England that package is in. I applied for a trace twice with absolutely no response! So, I will be shipping another large display to England next week without the glass, so they can't break the glass.
Yeah, I'm not surprised... although why they'd send it via ship from the west coast when the UK is in the other direction, I'm not sure.
Probably was a plane in S.F. going to the east coast first, but that didn't matter, since it still shows last seen in S.F.
The royal mail seems just as messed up as our local national postal system. Once, we never got post (no bills, nothing) for nearly a month, and our water and electricity got cut. Turned out somebody was dumping all the mail into the local river mouth! Then there are cases where they don't bother loggin in tracking information into the computers, so you can't track where it is and don't know it's waiting for you at the local PO (and eventually gets sent back to the sender, they don't even bother trying to contact you via a notice card in the mail, like they used to), or they return the package back to the sender because 'the delivery location doesn't exist', even though a) it's 2 suburbs away and b)very well known... What is it with post offices?
Wow! I'm down to my post office asking if something is wrong when I don't get mail on two consecutive days. How could that go on for a month
Heh, we get mail delivered once a week, and we don't get a lot of mail anymore because of email, so nearly a month without mail isn't worrying to us (plus the PO is sometimes late with delivering mail). Other people in my suburb and the two surrounding ones did raise a ruckus, however, as many are small businesses, etc. The PO simply said that they'd look into it, but never did. The accumulative ton of missing mail was discovered by a resident who lived along the river mouth. The mailbags were weighted down with bricks and cinder blocks *sighs* Corruption is also bad. You don't want to deliver any sort of parcel through regular mail, or post any envelope that remotely looks like it may contain money, as it'll 'disappear'...
