Try to build sites on new trending topics which is sure to have much lower competition and high search volume. Build links "white hat way" if adsense is your long term plan. A good way of getting links is by posting some funny pictures, videos or a nice "list". Do a bit of link exchanges with sites in your niche. Go for manual blog commenting. If you haven't chosen a very competitive niche, these will be enough to get your sites ranked. It will take 2-3 months to see a new site ranking well. Be patient. It will take another year for it to become an authority site if you go on adding good content and getting some links. Dont be afraid to spend money on good content. Tweak your ads. Try to extract the maximum from each visitor. Large rectangle performs best with adsense Try to make a visitor visit more pages on your website. Have a good intra site linking structure.
