I want some traffic to my new site: http://www.freebie-link.com/ I have had it up for about 3 months and it would be great if you guys could give me some tips on how to get more people. Currently, I'm receiving around 30 visitors a day and about 4 unique visitors daily. Any help?
Well, congratulations on so many returning visitors First you should browse this forum as there are tons of really good info on how to gain more traffic. Also where does your current traffic come from? Do you use social media like twitter. What about bookmarkings?
Well, my main traffic source is from google but I also post my site around forums and such. Days when I post my site around forums, I get like 70-90 views but then the next day it's back to 30. Using feedburner, I have 23 readers. On Twitter, I have 32 followers and about half are spam. Also, I tried using StumbleUpon but it has not worked and the most I've gotten from them is 4 visitors.
If you post in lots of forums, don`t forget to add it to your sig. Also how about submitting it to the many freebie type sites that list the best free resources? Some of those get masses of traffic.
Here are my 2 cents... Freebie-link.com immediately made me wonder -- what kind of freebies? I know I know, I could have clicked on it and checked. But the thing is, there are so many different types of freebies and I'm only interested in a few of them. It would help to find a way to reach the specific audience that is looking for the kind of freebies YOU are offering. One of the ways to do that is with article marketing, and you may also want to build a few Squidoo lenses and maybe hubpages, and link it all together. Write about the topic on which you have freebies. I.e., if you have internet marketing freebies, then write articles aobut internet marketing topics, and then put a link in the resource box where you tell them a bit more about what they can find in your freebie site. If you sell freebies in another niche, then write articles about that etc. Good luck! Elisabeth
I'll be a little obvious here and tell you to make sure to ACT on the advice you're given. Sure, it's good to learn, but it's easy to fall into the trap of constantly learning and planning. DOING is essential. So I'd recommend you browse around here, learn some tricks, then stop looking for tips and just act upon them for a while. See what works and what doesn't work, then learn and do some more. Yes, it's obvious advice, but if I fell into the trap, you can, too.
