    Hello,

today I have started submitting my new site to web directories. I have great list of directories and a firefox add-on InFormEnter, but I need some help, some tips how to do it better... Can you help me?

For example, is better use only one "title" and one "description", or is better use always different? If is better have more than one title and description, how much is the best? I dont know, for every 5 directory new title and description? For every 50? What is the best option?

    Have you any another tips?

In my opinion you should use your site's main title most of the time, but sometimes add some extra keywords to it or slightly change it in other ways. You should also vary the descriptions some, but if you submit to a lot of directories, it's hard to write a different one for every submission. Also, when you get a chance, be sure to include deep links.

The best thing you can do is read the sites submission guidelines and follow them.

Rotate your titles and descriptions as many times as you can. Don't use the same title over and over. Write descriptions of multiple lengths and use the largest that a directory accepts.

I just wonder what's good in rotating title? If one wants to SEO certain phrases/keywords, it's better to keep the title same. Please correct me if I am wrong...

    And @LuckyAcePP:
Most common mistake submitters do is to include superlative words in descriptions; like "Great", "Best" etc. Most directories don't allow promotional language in descriptions. So, make a neutral description and find the best suiting category (whatever time it takes!). Good luck :)

I always just copy & paste code to my site :( And add " - ", so my "html code" looks like:

    <a href="http://'DIRECTORY1'.com">'DIRECTORY1'</a> - <a href="http://'DIRECTORY2'.com">'DIRECTORY2'</a> -
    Code (markup):

This is by far and away the best tip IMHO, no matter how much you vary title and description if you don't take the time to read the guidelines you won't get anywhere.

Once read however, I agree that varying the title and description is a good idea. I try to never use an exact copy of any text off my site

Pay close attention to categories, and don't just submit to top categories because you think it'll get you better results.

Don't put time-sensitive information in your descriptions, like prices or special offers.

Some directories also allow multiple submission in different categories. It is written in their guideline.

Thanks for your tips, I have never rotated my title and description for the same URL, but this discussion suggests it is a good thing to do for seo.

Why would you even want to submit to a directory? Notice inner pages now on them have no PR.
