Some solution to prevent indexing my site except robots.txt

    Is there any other solution how to prevent to index my files without using robots.txt? Or is this the only solution.

    Richard Stallman once told that Google is indexing everything even if you have robots.txt or not and collects the data anyway.

    I would like to prevent that from happen.

    Is it possible or not?

    I think it's only solution we have, but robot.txt has plenty of disadvantages, I don't know how can I overcome those, I'm really struck because robot.txt :(
