Ahhh friends of the family. Even though I am certainly no expert on seo a friend of the family is asking me to help to get better rankings. I'm a designer and programmer and not so hot at seo. they never seem to care what you specialize in...if you work with computers, you know everything!!!

My rookie opinion is that it needs more conent that focuses on the desired keywords (wood work, woodturning australia, billiard table legs etc.). I've changed the products pages to contain some keywords in the titles and urls.

    Any other suggestions?

    Cheers.

Tell them to sit down and write as many articles as possible about the subjects. Thats the best SEO anybody can do.

I agree 100% SEO is all about content - and not just HTML content. Now that Google spiders PDF files tool, I have had great luck posting PDF files on my website for SEO purposes. My anecdotal experience shows that they may get more preference than HTML. Same with word files.

Definitely agree to this one. Article writing is another thing to do, part of promotions and backlinks.

I agree for both...after doing an on-page optimization you must also do your off-page optimization...improve your link popularity...submit your site to link directories and create new articles and submit them to article directories preferably different from the articles on your site for your site contents will be unique...:)
