Ok so its like this..i have a domain registered at godaddy...

and its blocked by my ISP because its a proxy site..

i use a different webhost...so like if they blocked my domain...do my other sites hosted at the same IP(obvisuly i am using shared hosting..) do my other sites get blocked too automatically???

Also if a domain is blocked...are its subdomains blocekd too??

Finally when ISP's block sites..do they block the Hosting Companies IP address or the domain only??

I am really confused..as i dont know much about this...so feedback is really appreciated..

PS: i posted this thread in another section : Site & Server administration not knowing abt thsi section..please delete that thread..thanks..

Are you sure your ISP blocked your site or the port ?

Why don't you change to another isp company?
only one isp company at your country?
if i were you, i do it with a minute delay.

Okay, I am confused but I will try to answer what I think you said.

If you control the site at Godaddy you can point the nameservers to any host you want. All you need to do is move the account to a new host.

By your ISp if you mean the the company that connects you to the Interenet, when they block a site all subdomains of that site are blocked. I really don't know how an addon domain would be affected. I am fairly sure they must block it on a named-based method because there can be 100's of sites on the same IP.

If I missed you question, try again. :)

BTW, site and server may have been the better thread. Mods will move if need be. It looks like an honest mistake.

thanks colby! ure explanation sounds quite logical..

because there might be a lot of other sites hosted on the same server..as most normal webhosts use shared hosting...

thats what i was wondering..whether they block a domain based on the name or not..

i think it wont affect my other non proxy based sites...that are on the same server...

abt the wrong thread..actually i didnt fidn the correct place..and i needed help asap thats why i posted here...

    But this is another question..

When they block a domain....if i move the hosting of that same domain to another hosting( i know abt NS and Cname) would the new hosting company hosting my domain..be blocked? or

would my prxy site will be blocked even if i change hosts?so basically they block based on domain like tld's??

If it is your hosting company that is doing the blocking once you move the domain to another company it should work just fine.

Be sure to pick a host that allows proxies. They are hard to find for shared hosting. An inexpensive vps may be your only option and many of those do not allow proxy sites.

Yes, I think that is correct. It almost has to be name based (domain name).
