Hi there, If you consider yourself as a SEO expert, these questions won't be hard for you. The questions are probably simple, but please answer them as much detailed as you can. As an example, let's say that I'm about to make a site about dogs. The main keywords I'm targeting are dogs, dog food, dog health. So, I have the following .html files that make the site: index.html, dogs.html, dogfood.html, doghealth.html. Now the questions... 1. SEO-izing the homepage I guess the first thing to do is set the TITLE and META KEYWORDS. As for title, would it be wrong if I set it as: "Dogs, Dog food, Dog health - dogsiteexample.com" - all keywords on homepage? As for meta keywords, should I put all the keywords here too? "dogs, dog food, dog health" ? 2. SEO-izing the inner pages (for example, dogfood.html) How to set the titles and keywords here? Should the title be as on the homepage - or should it be only "dog food" ? The same for keywords... Should I put all three keywords here, or only one - "dog food" ? What works better? 3. Content I guess my content has to contain as much words (keywords) as possible, right? That's it. I hope it's not too much. Thanks in advance.
Make a nice keyword rich title for each page. Dont worry about keywords tags, they are not important.
Hi dmi, Here's a tip to help you increase your SE rankings quickly: 1) Study your top competitors. Key in the keywords in Google and see how your top competitors do their titles and METAs. At the same time, check their number of inbound links. The lesser is their inbound links, the more you should follow their title and META pattern. 2) Titles and METAs should be different across the site. Title is meant to describe the content of a single page. 3) Same as point 1. Good luck!
in home page the main keyword should keep in title & should nt use 2 or three keywords at atime....& keep in mid that keyword density, keyword cloud...its old conception..now th era of symmentic indexing .so use proper keyword in title that u really mean ur website
True... the title should be focused on being accurate, targeted and still fairly short. Your main keywords should be in the title as well.
Alright, you need a crash course in SEO, I've provided a link to an excellent SEO FAQ that you'll find to be very useful. http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=182915
yes for a single page (other then hoomepage ) use the single targeted keyword, and make sure the keyword density should not exceed 8% , otherwise search engine may penalize you for keyword stuffing.
Thanks very much for the link ssandecki, ive bookmarked it to read tomorrow, too late for me to tackle it tonight, sleepy eyes and concentration is fading.
