Hello Guys, I am a little confused on how to rank my blog posts high in search engines. Look I have a technology based blog and have created a good amount of backlinks for it. My articles are indexed in the Google search engine for a specific keywords but they usually come on #30 - 40 position and some go even worse. What is the reason for it? Secondly please tell me how can I make backlinks for blog articles. Like I posted an article "Top 5 Essential Wordpress Plugins" it comes at #35 position for keyword "essential wordpress plugins" how can I built good backlinks for it you can say how can I make it rank higher? Thanks
The keyword : "Top 5 Essential Wordpress Plugins" may have good competition due to which you're ranking on that position. Try to build backlinks for that post on relevant blogs with similar topic.(Do check their page rank, do follow/nofollow)
Eh! Only backlinks isn't a solution for rank high in SERP's. Did you use social signals?? Like twitter tweets, retweet, fb share, likes, comments, pins in your every post.
If you are building relevant and natural links slowly then you would get benefit as well, keep checking ranking as you build links, if it is progressing then stick with that method.

Make sure your on page Seo is correct. Make sure you're not duplicating posts by using tags and categories. Also look into using an authorship plugin which will show you are the original author of the content.
