I have used paypal both as a seller and buyer for almost 2 years, and i am verified. But i still don't know most of their policies. can someone help me? - I am verified, but what is it good for? - Let's say i received money from someone, and after they receive my service, what happens if they apply for a chargeback? I heard that paypal usually takes buyer's side. Is that true? Does being a verified member changes anything? - What should i do to ensure that i am safe from chargebacks? Let's say i sold a domain to someone, they paid via paypal, i transferred domain, then they get their money back. Is it possible? I hear those stories too much...
Our point of view re verified gives us a better 'feel good' we are more likely to make payments to verified PayPal members Re the other points I am pretty sure they will follow as this thread runs Maybe too look at PayPal faq
Verification helps in building trust in the person. A verified person would most likely not be a scammer. And if you are univerified, a large amount of money transfer can raise a red flag and you may have your funds frozen. Also an unverified account generally has a cap on withdrawal/ sending. Chargebacks are not uncommonm, but generally do not take place with verified buyers if the deal goes fine. If you are right, and you have all your papers to prove your innocence, there is no reason why you should not win back your chargeback.
Verified can accept payment from Credit-Card... non-verified cant... also... non-verified can use $100 only... after that they have to verify there account to use more... anyways.... i found Moneybookers more reliable and good... there customer support is better then paypal
I think a good customer support service is the only advantage of the Moneybookers over Paypal. In all other aspects, Paypal is much more reliable and professional.
there also other things that make moneybookers good.... and also Moneybooker accepts user from almost every country.... there fee's are also less then paypal
I typically deal with people who are verified for higher ticket items, ie anything above $30. Because with Paypal or any deal you have through the internet would be done in trust. Most of the time, you do not know the other party and all that you know about the other person is just an email address and probably a few posting. Verification is a process to determine that the person is who he say he is, this would provide at least one level of trust. However, as for him screwing you after the transfer, that can happen too. It can happen with any business and even amongst friends. I guess that is the cost of business, there is always some risk factor. However, generally people are generally honest so that's how we survive in business. I've been screwed before but it doesn't happened all the time, maybe once or twice out of the hundreds of paypal transactions. Because you are dealing with virtual products, there is no real way to determine if the item is being transferred so thus the buyer is usually protected in this case. Unless you can provide physical proof of delivery such as the buyer's signature on a UPS or DHL slip.
Hm, most people would say verified members are more trusted with payment than un verified members. I have to disagree because I get atleast $150 sent to my paypal a day and im not verified and I have not hade any trouble with trust since I started using paypal. Just my $0.02
I am not saying that everyone who is unverified is untrustworthy, it is just that when you are dealing with someone unknown, every thing which can be done to increase that trust level, it would definitely be better. Verification is free and quite painless so why not do it.
Well said Eddy And mindzero have you received the 150 from various people or from one person in one stroke. If it is the latter, it could raise a red flag
Various is pretty fine, but if you suddenly get a large sum of money from one person, then it may cause some problems
Thats right..for sending at least And mindzero , the large sum is undefined , but you may have heard stories of unverified accounts being frozen due to one time large transfers of money
Mindzero, why don't you just verify your Paypal account so that you do not need to look over your shoulder every time you use your Paypal account. It is not like you have anything to hide.
