    Buying text links
    Is it evil?
    Is it good?
Will it help my search engine rankings?
    Will it get my banned?
    Will it increase my PageRank?
Will it increase my link popularity?
Will it bring targeted traffic to my site?
    Should i do it?
Should i hire a broker to do it?

If you're buying links to purposely manipulate ranking algorithms, for example to increase your PageRank, yes it's evil.

If you're buying links for the traffic and for advertising purposes (and the links are identified as paid links) there is no problem whatsoever.

Identify paid links with the rel="nofollow" attribute and you'll be fine.

Do not use paid links, it can harm for your website. You should adopt only backlinks and your website rank will increase in natural way.

Did you actually read my post FreeTraffic?

Paid links are perfectly acceptable if they are identified as paid links.
