Let's see, I'll counter strike! Dude, putting a Default Search Text is a part of the coding! The search text is in the PSD, and I was apying to code the PSD! Which you lamely failed to do so! Very stupid justification. Even if we assume that the theme stretches because it's 1024 in resolution, the resolution with the stretch is more than 1024, what-so-ever! Sorry? How on earth can you say them "Same"? They don't look same at all. One is transparent and the other one is solid blue! No it's not Okay, I've told you again and again of the edge problem!!!! You are very ignorant, and arrogant, at the same time!
Don't worry man, I will buy you glasses What you say now? It is not same? How I said color in background of that image is same on top of page for difference from color in background on middle of page...
Thanks, But I don't need your money to buy glasses! How can the background of image be different, while it's the same to me, I have used the same opacity and semi-transparency in the PSD: http://www.sajtodmiliondinara.com/night_sky.png How will you justify it now? Just lame excuses!
Look here's what im thinking... Im a coder myself.. that design is almost impossible to implement 100% identical in css... 1) the rough edges caused by GIF image... (i suspect) ... since its transparent... using gif is a good choice but it creates a rough white edges especially for dark backgrounds ...i wouldnt use PNG either coz its transparency is not supported by IE6.... Either way... I think its a coders fault at the beginning... he should have said its not achievable 100% and mentioned earlier that the result will have a slight changes... Its natural for the client to get furious ... remember if you are a PSD coder always put in your mind that the client always want 100% quality... if its 99.9 below... expect that he will not pay you... be sure to tell him that the result will not be 100% identical to the original PSD ... dont get overconfident telling him you could do it... When you said you can do it it means giving him "100%" of what he is asking. as for HPA, the question is did you asked him to revise his work after you saw the result?? if so, and then he refused... my conclusion is you're on the righteous side... but if you didnt and just ignored him without asking for revision it might be your fault too... coz the chat conversation took place 5 days already... we didnt knew what happened on the time he submitted the theme... and HPA you must have promised this coder that he will get his money once he fixes it ... coding is a hard job and you know that... atleast you have to make him feel motivated and promise that he will get his money when job is fully done. Coz some buyers are rude "they get mad" telling crap things to the coder (im not telling you're like that @ HPA)... Be sure to ask the coder to revise the neccessary things in good way ... Even so, this guy is still a good coder... im still impressed on his work ... but refusing for revision is not a good way if you're trying to claim your money... fix everything and you might have a chance that you'll get your money... avoid misundertanding ... client and coder must always communicate at all times...
I told him the errors, over and over again. But he refused to revise the work! I'm not getting sort of mad at him, but what's making me mad is that he is threatening me to use my theme for link sales! He has no rights to do what-so-ever to it! But he says he will! If he had agreed to revise it, and correct the errors, I wouldn't have opened this topic. Only thing he said me was that he will sale links on my theme, if I don't pay him!!!
solve the case... sort it out.. make him revise the error then pay him.. its as simple as that.. ask him if he still wants the payment.. if yes tell him to fix the slight error then pay him.. WE ARE THE WITNESSES HERE.. if he refuses then he's the culprit... if you dont pay him after he fixes the errors then you will lost your reputation here.. hows that.. i hope he's reading this...
the smooth edge can be resolved using PNG files then used a hack file(try to search on the net) to display the png as transparent on IE6. Just need to used proper margin, padding
very good suggestion actually - if he has any sense then he will fix the errors, and the other errors that have been pointed out are only minor ones which can be easily fixed, in the time that was spent arguing here it could easily have been fixed.
Okay guys, he has clearly refused to fix the errors: What do you guys say now? this guy is very very dishonest, and unprofessional! I request you all to stay away from him!
My own thoughts on this are that it's a situation that seems to have gone out of control but could have been resolved by both parties. For the record the programmer does not have the right to sell the design if it was created by the OP. Guys, I encourage you both to take a deep breath and try to resolve this amicably where you both get what you expected from the deal. Surely that makes more sense than bickering about it here?
I'm with HPA on this one... He gave the PSD files and the coder hasn't looked at detail and has not given an upto-the-mark design. Clearly HPA, you shouldn't pay him 1 cent.
I agree with that completely half of what was posted needn't have been really, however the coder is obviously immature and he could have fixed the errors pretty quickly as their not world ending errors imo.
Or perhaps the coder feels he is being asked to do extra work for free and that his standards were high enough from the outset? Point is, there's no going forwards if everyone goes round in circles with this. The OP wanted a PSD coded and the coder felt the job was done and now they are stuck in this situation where no-one is getting anywhere. A 'virtual handshake' and a little bit of come and go on both sides could see this resolved in no time at all.
Electric-Shadow mcfox I both agree with you guys. This isnt at the extremist though, both have attempted, its just a gap of misunderstanding (obviously)!
hmm.I am coding scripts and bots too.you must talk everything before give ur project someone and make a contract.. he says he'll sell links on them! this is showing what is his professionalism
Agreed, he has no rights to be selling links on a design he doesn't own, I doubt it's helping his cause. I agree this could've been dealt with somewhat more amicably but imo the coder is being rather childish about this, is it really that much extra work? changing a few words, making minor cosmetic adjustments, setting default text? it's something I would be quite happy to do to get my money, afterall the coder is doing himself out of money by refusing to do these corrections imho.
