I love vista now that i changed over from windows XP. I mean it has its moments of unstablity at times but then again i lived thru windows 95 like this lol. Graphic wise i like it better.
Just get 32 bit version, i believe thats the version im using (even tho as far as i know i can use 64) Dan
How does making something require more resources to preform the same takes make it better? In my experience of how fast my PC is... 1 gig of XP ram = 8 gig of Vista ram. That makes Vista 8 times slower in my experience. It's ok now I have spent more than my new vista PC cost on Ram upgrades, but still only up to about the same speed of my old XP machine. And I was trying to upgrade lol.
Alot of people are just biased against Vista without even using it. And they always say the same old thing "Compatibility sucks blah blah, and stupid alerts". I never have any problems with compatibility with my vista. Everything works fine and smooth. And all my programs work fine because i get the updated versions. SO there is really no reason to hate Vista. I love it. The only thing that I don't love is the price of it. it's way over priced. I wouldn't have ever had vista if it hadn't of came with my new pc. Only because of the price. Isn't worth it.
Really like vista but i agree with Damnidunno, if it hadnt come installed on my pc i wouldent have bought it.
Microsoft vista is not as user friendly as windows xp. But vista promise to be a good competitor for macintosh operating system. People using mac computers will love windows vista than people using windows xp computers. But it is still a gain for microsoft.
One thing that moved me from PCs to Mac (only a fortnight ago!) was when my dad bought a new Vaio laptop - it came loaded with crap (advertisements etc.). That's as much Sony's fault as Microsoft and Apple isn't amazing either. OS X is cool and all but I went as I had no choice - if Vista was a real update on XP, I might have been typing this message from a Windows PC. Vista is just like XP with flashy lights and it's focussed too much on newbies, sure you can disable the security pop-ups but I don't want to learn to use a computer again! Especially if I have to search google on how to open up command prompt on Vista!
I think it's fine... but then again... I was quite happy with my windows 2000 box just a while back... and now that I think about it... OS9 was pretty great too... I even liked PC-DOS and the Amiga... Who's complaining?
I was thinking about upgrading to vista but then I got quite a bit of negative feedback from people who were disappointed with it.
KingofSanda. It really isn't that disappointing. You should ask a friend of yours who has one, or go to BestBuy, and test it out. You'll find yourself surprised.
I think that a lot of people who mark Vista negatively have probably not even used it for an entire day.
I really do like Vista, it's really nice, Except when my computer gets really slow. But that is because I have a Celeron M. I would upgrade by I cant upgrade my Processor in my laptop.
I haven't used Vista very much... but from my experience.... The GUI looks much nicer than any previous windows version. Appears to be more secure than any previous windows version. Seems to run slower than a comparable equipped Windows XP machine.
