I hear tons of people these days talking about how much Vista sucks, and how Microsoft is nothing compared to the almighty Apple Corporation. The thing is that they really aren't that bad. My friend recently got a new laptop with Vista Ultimate and I played around with it and found that as long as you have enough RAM to handle the graphics, it's not all that bad. These are the negatives that I have scrapped up around the internet: 1. From Microsoft. 2. Graphic Heavy, Unnecessary. 3. Not Compatible With XP Software 4. Ugly Interface 5. Multiple Versions: Basic, Ultimate, ETC. 6. and a few others... I personally find that these are all stupid reasons to get angry about. I mean sure the Mac leopard has a nice interface but it is no reason to get up on Microsoft's case for. What do you think? Do you like or hate the Vista and why? Share your thoughts and feelings here...
I love Vista, as i can find and navigate through it easily, looks better, no pop ups in the quick launch tray as when i had XP i had heaps of pop ups in the quick launch but with vista i don't get one. DX10 is better for games as better graphics, all my hardware and old software works with it. Much faster to do things, and so many more reasons but i love vista and i will never go back to XP EVER. Also why do people complain about it as in a few years no one will be using XP as it will be so old and outdated and cant run anything. So my advice is upgrade to a fully compatible PC system.
Agreed indefinitely. What I don't understand is why people say that they're downgrading. The fact of the matter is that Vista is just ten times better.
If you have a brand new PC it may be fine, but most people don't want to buy a brand new PC just to upgrade their OS. I know I don't.
ehehe so true, Vista sux, however, to keep up-to-date with the technology, I still have that bloated Vista on the very last partition of my multi boot machine.
I don't care about any of those programs. I just need Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, IrfanView, CCleaner, Thunderbird, MS OFFICE 07, and iTUNES and I'm basically all good.
Have used it from the start, and it solved many a headache i was getting daily from XP. Using it around a year now, and no problems what-so-ever.
It's about time someone made a positive post about Vista, personally I haven't used it as of yet. (will no doubt have it on my next laptop upgrade ) I would like them to iron out the wrinkles and bugs before I use it
I've got Windows Xp ^^ but I heard from a lot of people that vista is bad. I think that all the 3D animation will slow down the pc
I have found that Vista takes a little getting used to. I didn't like it at first so I went back to XP. I managed to get a copy of Service Pack 1 RTM and I decided to give it a second go, now I am really enjoying it. Most of the issues that irritated me are gone. ie. File copying, network browsing, unzipping files Now I don't think I can go back to XP. I've managed to get Vista compatible versions of all my software and I've managed to get all my games running (some tweaking is required though). I'd say stick with Vista and it will grow on you, some people are afraid of change.
Generally, with a bran new machine it isn't so bad. 64 bit version is a nightmare instead. The security is so tight, and I can even edit the hosts file even with admin privileges. No way to install a non certified driver, it just will not do it. I think a "root admin" should be able to screw up his machine and face the results himself. So give me a darn warning but let me do what the hell I want to do. What also piss me off, is that there are too many (useless) services and processes running by default. took me 5 hours to figure out what to shut down. Wouldn't be easy (and better performing) to allow admin to choose what he needs when installing the OS instead of post installation hunting for unneeded services? IMHO that's where Vista fails big time.
Vista works for me. I am able to run tons of tabs in FireFox and do whatever else I want/need. I also love the fact that I can get rid of those damn "do you really want to close this window" boxes. Those are annoying but Vista runs nice otherwise.
i didn't try it myself but i heard people saying that they have enough memory but they still can't run Vista properly
I have it and love it, i hated it got a copy installed on a partition, (what are u on about needs to be on every partion) and ended uo not useing XP so now im a VISTA fan works much better than XP improved alot of the major headaches on XP. The people who dont like it should get it use it for a couple of months and then see...
The deal is some people don't like the fact that they need to buy a new PC to run Windows Vista, and since a lot of these like XP, they should just keep XP until they can afford to either upgrade their PC or buy a new one. Apple Mac's aren't really big at all in the personal computing sector, more the business sector and even then mostly design companies use Mac's. My personal opinion is Vista all the way (and Ubuntu) - hasn't failed on me once.
