    Hello guys...

    I have some questions regarding Paypal;

    1. Can I join Paypal if I am under 18? I am going to be 17 in November.
    2. Can I send and receive money to anywhere if I don't verify my account?
    3. What else can I do with a personal paypal account?

    Thanks
    Crazysah

    My answer's the same as esidyo's. You could ask your parent's to open you an account though, then you'd be able to do all 3.

    No.

    Yes, but it is limited. You are going to be 17, so no for you.

    What else can I do with a personal paypal account?
    See PayPal's FAQ.

    If not verified, you can use it to buy stuff online, and in a very limited way to receive small payments, but you need to be 18 to open it. Do you have a co-operative parent?

    1. Can I join Paypal if I am under 18? I am going to be 17 in November.
    Nope. It's a good idea to use your parent's name to sign up. And, try avoid using VCC to verify account, CC is safer. Peter is kind of correct, use your dad's name only if you have the permission. You may need his help to get things sorted out if the account goes limited - requires few documents to restore. Trust me, it happens sooner or later.

    2. Can I send and receive money to anywhere if I don't verify my account?
    Yes, but there's a limit of either $100 or $500 to send and withdraw funds.

    3. What else can I do with a personal paypal account?
    Nothing. Personal account is intend to be used for personal or buying purpose. You better off get a Premier account if you plan to sell some sort of services, or getting paid by ad networks.

    @DarkX - Yes... I planned to be paid by writing articles on sites, reviewing music and posting on some sites and from here. Should I make a Premier account then?

    @ Peter; Yeah if I get his permission then;

    My email address
    His name
    His date of birth
    His nationality
    Our address
    Our home number
    His credit card

    Is that fine then?

    Also... can I change my date of birth after signing up?

    Seems fine to me.

    Nope, you won't be able to change date of birth. When you turn 18, get your own credit card, you can just open another PayPal account.

    Yes, as you're doing a business (under name, not company), you should get Premier account. Just a quick note, there's a fee for each transaction, unlike personal account. BTW, you're allowed to have two accounts, one Personal and either Premier or Business account under a name.

    I guess I will just make the Paypal account in my dad's name and everything then.

    Two more things,

    1. Is there a statement that comes via email on every transaction that happens?
    2. So I cannot open a personal account and then get paid by these various sites?

    1. Nope, though there's a option to download or print the statement. It's in the Account History. Oh, and, you do get payment notification via email for every transaction.

    2. Well, you can, but you shouldn't. Like I've said on my previous post, you're allowed to have two accounts under one name. Personal and either Premier or Business account. Open both. ;)

    That's the problem. I don't want my dad knowing everything I buy because he won't allow me to buy it all then. Some things like subscribing to a forum. He won't allow me to do that. So what can I do to get around the problem of payment notification via email if I use his email address?

    Why should I open both Personal and Premier accounts? Why not just one?

    What is PayPal IPN?
    Receive CC Payments?
    I can still withdraw the money to a CC right?

    These are the last questions I have...

    Actually only question;
    Is Paypal IPN all that important?

    How much is the transaction fee for a Premier account?

    You can turn off the payment notifications.

    Personal account doesn't not charge any fee for the payments received, and you can only accept maximum of 5 credit card transactions per year, fees charged for CC are quite high - 5.4% + $0.30 USD. Premier account has a fee of 2.4% + $0.30 USD to 3.4% + $0.30 USD, and you can accept as many credit card payments you want.

    IPN = Instant Payment Notification.

    So I should create a Premier Paypal account in my dads name and with his email address and all and then I will be fine? I will be able to send and receive money from all sites and trade around here on DP?
