I am from kathmandu, where paypal do not provide their service. My friend is going to make a paypal accout for me. I dont want him to hurt in any ways. He will give me the account password. He is also going to add his american bank account or credit card. I not going to do anything with him credit card or bank account. But I have to make him sure. Can I do anything to his bank account or credit card? If I cant do that then he can be sure there is not harm in doing that for me. I belive that I should reenter the credit cards pin number if i wish to deposite money in paypal through credit card. Isnt that true? another question is that do paypal take any action if I use that account(an us account) from kathmandu ? Of course the account will be in his name and he will also open his account frequently.
Well, technically it is against their Terms and Conditions so if they find out, you will lost all the money in the account and your friend would probably get into trouble since it is his name. Try to find an alternative means of collecting funds. I know it is a pain but you got to live with it.
If you access your account from Nepal they will turn it into limited status. Once that happens any money that you added to your paypal account will be unuseable until you can verify the account with a US credit card, bank account and possible even utility bills.
Your friend is very trusting! Has he thought of what you can do to this account? Say you go on ebay and buy something for big bucks, then his bank account and/or checking account could be hit hard. Really, find another payment processor.
i can confirm what the other guys mentioned - i travel a fair bit - to all sorts of places - and i logged into my paypal account. it was suspended and i had to reverify my account using my credit card. so your arrangement won't really work for you.
IP logging is a great thing and is used by PayPal to monitor for fraud... sorry to say but most of the PayPal phishing schemes are coming out of parts of the Middle East, Aafrica and Asia. If you log onto an account from any of those countries you set off their fraud alarms.
well...I dont think so. My friend lives in albania where paypal doesnt provides service. He made his account as a UK citizen but dint got any problems...at least till now! His sending limit is now just 198.43 GBP( Its true as I also have access to his account) out of 1000 GBP he got... I rarely access that account..so PayPal dint catch up people from albania nah I dont think so.. I think PayPal doesnt monitors you until someone has filed at least a dispute aginst you!
Maybe you are right. But without a proper way to receive/send money, it would not be good for your business in the long term.....
Well that proves my point. They do check and the virtue that the account is limited goes to show that you should not try to go around trying to cheat Paypal or do any hanky panky. If your country is not in the approved list of countries then do not use it. I do travel overseas to countries which is not my own and I do access my Paypal account. However, as a precaution, I contacted Paypal to inform them of my travel and they made a note of that in my account that I would be accessing my account from another country. If everyone just disregards the Terms and Conditions and just disregards what they do not agree upon and change them in their mind to suit them then what's the point having laws, rules and contracts for ?
well....My inference was that PayPal doesnt notice your ip addresses until you were charged a chargeback or claim or soething like that!
Yes, you can use the paypal account in kathmandu but make sure the account is been verified already by your friend. Let him use the account for 1 week at least before transferring the account to you. This will eliminate atleast suspicion from paypal representative that the account is been created using proxy.
As an advice you might also try using an anonymous proxy, preferably US based. Even if PayPal checks the account, an Us based IP should quell their worries. Or of course you might just switch to Moneybookers. Best regards, George
