Some opinions on ads for a gaming site

    Hello,

I got some questions to ask you guys....

I have a site with ~120-140k daily impressions/day, is on gaming. Many of visitors are returning visitors. All around the world.

    So, my questions are:
    1. How much you think i should earn/monthly from ads ?

    2. Which approach you think is the best for ads:
    - to go for an ad agency; which agency you recommend
    - to look for a salesman (payed on % of ads sold) to sell ads directly to advertisers; this way maybe i can get better prices for ads (cpm probably this case)

If second solution is fine then how do i look for a salesman ?

    3. Since i got many returning visitors do you think i can get more clicks = incomes if they would see different ads (by using alternatelly 2-more ad networks) they would click more often on links ?

Thanks for your ideas, i hope would be an interesting subject for discussion...

ad agency will most likely get you max earnings.
your earnings can vary a lot, but probably more than 100 a month:)
I think if you had relevant ads, like about games it would be the best
I know of a few agencies, but you may want to look at reachads, which a lot of people seem to recommend on this forum

I don't have personal exp. w/ them so i would not know

I was wondering too, if in this area, gaming, would not be better to have other ads than for games.

I mean ads for games are not payed so good as others (one people i know is getting $75/CPM but he has ads on highly payed hardware and software). I was thinking if not ads to LCD's, video cards or something it would be payed better (and with a similar ctr rate i hope) than ads for games...

you could make an easy 300$ + each month with reachads (check my sig for a link) and adbrite is good also for selling ads. 75$ cpm is unheard of. I could possible believe 7.50$ cpm.

I was talking about $75. There are ads for products with value of $x.xxx for very well financed guys...

Ok, i was thinking on making $2000 + rather, i already make average 1.100/month with AdSense, but then got some problem with them (they really bad sometime with publishers, won't help if there is a problem) and need to switch.

As far as i know a salesman specialised in ads with good conections can bring better CPM rates than any ad network...

I guess you'd better try them yourself to find out the best one for your business. There are a few reputable advertising websites on the web, you may think about pop-unders and pop-in ads as well.

    Yeah, maybe...

Reach ads is fine but they have same and again same ads... So my CTR is getting down slowly...

I submitted to 2-3 big networks but they rejected for time been, will reaply later when new website is up...

    Hey,

    This is Matt from ReachAds.

Regarding your CTR problem - we are preparing to launch a new marketing campaign of our own to let a lot more games know we exist. This will involve a new employee who will join myself in contacting a number of games regarding what we can offer.

Please bear with us while we try and improve the network even further.

    Cheers
    Matt

Nice to see someone from ReachAds is here...

Good marketing this way ;) Also, we can feel that agency is in touch with us...

Yeah, you need way more advertisers, i mean prices are rather cheap for them...

Btw, started to be dissapoited by some networks, sample Adversal which decreased a lot their prices for publishers based on a new country based scheme... You got some news related to such (or any other, for publishers) changes of policy ?

    Hey,

Thanks jameskon, will be back to u once sites will be re-done, is working in progress now.

Related to AdBrite there are 2 problems:
    1. You could simply have no ad for a while so loosing money
    2. If u get ads, you will get probably same ad, so unsuitable for my case, where as much different ads as possible is best idea
