Some of These Gurus Are Really Getting Lazy

Let me first start by saying that I'm not going to name names and that I personally know some gurus and there are some great gurus that do provide great information, but this has got to be an all time low point for some of these so called gurus. I market in the make money online niche, but I don't ever promote junk to my customers, blog readers or mailing list.

A guru recently released a new product that was supposed to be this big upgrade over his last product release. I read it and it was pretty much the same as his old product, with just a few minor changes. They saw fit to charge people a bunch of money for these few minor changes, in my opinion.

What is worse is that some of these gurus that have given good information are promoting this crap. Now, they are doing this for one of two reasons. Either they are just interested in making money off of people because they know the product will convert or they are doing the scratch my back and I'll scratch your back thing. It's nothing new, we all know that, but is it too much to ask to be given good and fresh information for making money online? I sure hope not.

I agree. It seems like they've convinced themselves that the products are helpful and will work even though its blatantly obvious that they won't.

Doesn't matter anyway; 25-30% of their list buys it, they make >$100k and move on to the next. People keep buying crap anyway.

It is really quite sad what people shell out for when there is real content out there if they just look a little harder.

Ah well ... a fool and his money are soon parted !

Yeah, they are in the constant buyer mentality. It reminds me of people that want to lose weight and they keep buying weight loss product after weight loss product and are always looking for something easier or better. The same thing applies to making money online products.

They can afford to be lazy. Once you're a big deal in the IM niche it's easy because there are so many impulse buyers craving for the next big product.

Well such things would keep on happening until one day, a guru releases an upgrade to a product and no one on his list will buy it.

By the way I think that same thing will happen with this lazy guru too. It's just a matter of time.

Are you talking about Rob Benwell and BTTB 3.0? I noticed the gravity was sky high and allegedly people are saying it is barely any different to BTTB 2.0. I have not read or bought it myself.

I don't think you can blame these gurus - what about the other gurus who are promoting it to their lists? They are all just as guilty.

Eh, i ran into this little issue also couple months ago. Just got a refund and moved on. Some guru's are only out to make $$$ and not wanting to help people succeed besides earning some money. Dishing out a product that has like 2 or 3 changes in the wording/graphics is just stupid and being lazy. I'd never trust that guru again nor even recommened his products to people i know.

Have you contacted that one guru to let him or her know how you feel about this new release.

The bizopp/make money online niche is so inflated with crap it's unbelievable. But if you just have a look around this forum, you'll see there is no shortage of eager newbies ready to throw their money away.

My Gaming YouTube site (pardon the plug) I suppose falls into that niche, but I don't sell anything. I just give away valuable information, in hopes that I'll get some referrals to the affiliate networks I promote. That way, if I do a good job educating people how to make money with YouTube and they sign up under me with one of my networks, it becomes a mutually beneficial relationship.

But these so-called "gurus" are just bottom feeders, in my opinion, making their living off of people that look up to them and trust them to teach them how to make money online. It seems to me that they'll promote just about anything. Most of the time the information they give out is just recycled stuff that you can find on most of these forums.
