I created a couple of hubs wit keyword research and now I can say it really works but the problem is that there is not much traffic to them. According to google keyword tool they get less than 1000 searches per month so my conclusion is that I will not target keywords with less that 1000 searches. My hubs are in the 5th or 10th position and I am only getting about ten views per day. I know if I get to the first place I might get 40% of the searches but I don't think it is worth it. What do you think? Moral of the story in my experience, research more and find keywords that have greater search count.
You will be dealing with a little bit of a double edged sword if you go after higher competition keywords, because how much time and resources are you willing to put in to a website/webpage you ultimately don't own? I mean hubpages could sell their business tomorrow and delete all the pages and all the work you put in would be gone.
Make sure you use "exact" instead of "broad" when using the google keyword tool for keyword research.
