    Quickest and easiest way is to submit to website directories and write articles and submit them to article directories - I use SubmitEaze to submit, very quick and easy.

    Those two methods work really well to target niche keyword terms. I tend to target lots of niche terms rather than aiming for one mega-competitive term, it's more diversified, robust, and you don't have all your eggs in one basket that way.

    In link building, the best ways are to post forums and article submission. Besides that you have to do social book marking and its very effective in giving back links..

    Blog commenting doesn't seem to give a better result, as most of the back links are of no follow. Instead you can go with article submissions, classifieds, bookmarking, blog posting, etc. These would drive more number of visitors to your site. There are numerous link building services like buildmylink, etc to make your link building more efficient and effective.
