Been browsing the search engine threads at DP for a while, saw some jargons that I need to know what they mean (I'm quite a newbie)

    - sandbox ?
    - white hat ?
    - green pixel ?
    - dance ?
    - toolbar pagerank ?

Hmm, that's about all for time being. Gonna keep browsing this interesting SEO topic.

    Thanks in advance!

Quite strange that after that many posts you still have to ask this... but ok, let's try to help:

Sandbox: it's said that google puts nearly all new sites in a "sandbox" (you know, where the children play in the parks when they are small), until they are old enough to go and play with the rest. That means: age of a site is taken in to account, and until google considers it is old enough it will be filtered for any money term. Do a search in google, sure you find A LOT on this.

White hat: when you do SEO for sites but not using any trick that could be considered bad by search engines (like hiddent text and so on...).

Green pixel: I'm not really sure on the context, and therefore can't help.

Dance: Movements on the results given by search engines. It used to be the Google Dance, when some years ago they updated the results (or algorithms) every month. Now this term is out of date, but still used by people meaning they are seeing changes in the SERP's (search engine results)

Toolbar pagerank: if you use IE or Firefox in windows, get the google toolbar. Look at the green bar there: this is the toolbar pagerank (TBPR). It does not change continuosly, but every time google push the button (like 2 days ago, it happens about every few months and everybody get ¡oh! so excited with event :D ). People refers this a the Toolbar Pagerank cause it is different from: a) the real pagerank, which calculated continuosly and no one but google know its value for real. b) the google directory pagerank (GDPR), which is many times wil be different from the TBPR.

Hope this helps you. I can't still believe after that many time here you didn't know.

I was mostly in Adsense threads, not search engine threads. Can't expect me to know everything, could you :)

    Thanks!
