    Hi,
    With new startup we've decided to make some stats of websites.
    It is based on analysis of almost 4 million domains - various languages, scripts, tlds and so on.

    You can notice incredibly dominating position of Facebook social plugin (used on 60,3% websites!) and how far behind is Google plus - 4,71%. Twitter appears on 21,67% websites.

    82,7 % uses external CSS, and almost 30% jQuery.

    XHTML 1.0 TRANSITIONAL has dominating position in document types, but HTML5 has already 19.53% share - I think that it only takes time to be number one.

    We can tell that UTF-8 is a standard in encoding types - 71,93%.

    Almost half of websites needs time below 1 second to load - so if your site has worse score - I think that it's something to change... :)
