I get a robot come in, click on the ad, hammer azoogle offer like 100 times, then change IP's, repeat, numerous times throughout the day.

Is anyone else having the same thing happen?

that's the thing - it's different ip everytime

and they do come from ppc, not only do they come from there, they also click 2-3 times on the ad itself.

That's interesting.. How hard would it be for a competitor bidding on the same keyword to aim a click bot to your ads and drain your campaign money? Seems like it wouldn't be hard. Scary...

Someone with blackhat knowledge could probably enlighten us.

I agree, it's fraud and a criminal act. I would report this immediately to google or whoever you're using for PPC. Keep us posted on what happens.

And like you said earlier, bail out of ringtones for a while and try other niche areas, it's getting too cutthroat and crazy.

From my investigation someone MIGHT be targeting thumplay and rockingringer

If you check their affiliate landing pages, they're unavailable (due to DOS attack I presume).

    well

the guy is not very bright for two reasons

    1) He won't be able to drive everyone off forever.
    2) Sooner or later he'll get nabbed if he keeps this up.

IMO, halt all campaigns and log traffic... this is not cool - and it couldnt cost a people a very good sum of money and headache.

And this is why Google is so big... you would really be suprised how bad robot traffic is for other markets and there isn't a lot you can do about it but keep good logs and hope that you get a refund from google.

that's the first time i've heard of clickmonkeys. it's interesting how they come right out and tell you that they click on your ads in return for payment. i wonder how google, yahoo, msn "protect" their advertisers from this.

Why would they bother? They laugh all the way to the bank.

In reality though it's just costs of doing business. Market will adjust based on overall cost inflations to preserve margins.

Its obviously someone whos in the ringtone biz trying to scare you and others (including myself) off of ringtones. Its interesting isnt it  I wonder who it could be.

Are you seeing it more on the UK offers or the USA offers? Personally I get it on both and tons of it. Its okay the cheesy scripts they are using leave traces in it and I've sent the source and my logs to azoogle already. Its only a matter of time till they get nabbed.
