Avengers: Age of Ultron Jurassic World Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens Terminator Genysis Furious 7 Taken 3
I love Arnold's movies, for the most part. However, his stint as governor really hurt my perception of him for a simple reason: he is really, really short. In the movies, they take care to shoot from angles that make him look tall in comparison to everyone else. But, when he was governor, it was the press filming him and they just used standard video angles and it was oh so clear that he was often the shortest person in the room. Makes it hard to see him in the same light when he is playing Conan or the Terminator, etc., because if you watch closely, he is shorter than the women, some times. Yes, he is still very muscular and surely quite strong and tough, but...
My eyesight is fine and I am commenting on what I saw during unplanned news events when he was filmed alongside others as governor. I particularly remember some news feeds when he had the extra-marital problems. If you Google the topic, you will see that there is controversy about his height. Some claim that he is 5' 10" and wears 4-inch risers in his shoes to get to 6' 2". Sorry that I may have burst your bubble.
Well, you apparently burst the bubble for me too! I was under the impression too that Arnie's actual height is 6' 2". Well, just googled it and found there's a lot of controversy and heated debate going on around the topic. Some evidence and file photos captured when he was a governor clearly show that he's shorter! Whatever, Arnie's still my fave!
Hi, I could not agree more: I LOVE his movies. But now I notice how they use camera angles and other such tricks to hide his height. They do the same for Tom Cruise and other short action types.
When Tom Cruise was shooting for the Indian sequence of 'Mission: Impossible 4 – Ghost Protocol' (2011) in Mumbai and Bangalore, one of my friends had been both places and I confirm what you say because he told me Tom appears taller on screen than he actually is. Technology works like magic! o_o
There was the story of a hero cowboy (it may have been John Wayne, but I forget) for whom they had to dig trenches for his leading ladies to stand and walk in alongside him while filming so that he could look taller. Hollywood is good at that type of thing, of course.
