Some help with installing AWStats?

Hi, apologies in advance if this is the wrong forum, it just seemed to be the best choice to me.

I'm using dreamhost, and am trying to install AWStats.

I have no experience with Perl, but I do fine until I get to this step:

In the awstats/cgi-bin/ folder, copy awstats.model.conf to awstats.domainname.com.conf, where "domainname.com" is actually your website domain.

I don't have an awstats.domainname.com.conf file anywhere. I have the awstats.model.conf, but that's the only .conf file I have.

If anybody can help I'd be very grateful. Thanks :)

    Hi,

They mean that you have to edit awstats.model.conf and to rename the modified file in awstats.domainname.com.conf where domainname.com is the domain name of your site.

A few lines you probably need to edit in your AWStats config file are:
    - LogFile
    - LogFormat
    - SiteDomain
    - HostAliases

Thanks Jean-Luc. I've done that, but then the file doesn't have any of the LogFile, etc, info which has to be changed. I'll try looking for it without the "find" function. Thanks again :)
