    I am not a professionbal at web design but dabble for friends. I have submitted www.myinnerlight.co.uk to several search engines but have had comments back from one or two that tell me there is no title or description :confused:

    Yet they are on the page. Anyone any ideas why this would be.

    My site by the way is local to where live www.safetanman.co.uk so probably needs only local advertising

    Hi Rex!
    What they are talking about are "tags". I looked at the source of your webpage and it looks like this:

    "<html>
    <head>
    <title></title>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
    </head>
    <frameset rows="100%,*" cols="100%" border="0" framespacing="0">
    <frame name="mask" src="http://www.rexmakemson.connectfree.co.uk" frameborder="NO"
    scrolling="AUTO">
    </frameset>
    <noframes>
    <body bgcolor="#FFFFFF">
    Redirection to <a href="http://www.rexmakemson.connectfree.co.uk">here</a>.
    </body>
    </noframes>
    </html>"

    You'll notice that the title tags (<title></title>), do not have any information. Your description would be written with a meta tag, which is also missing. I'm not sure how much you know about HTML, so if this isn't making sense, let me know & I'll explain it better
    :) .

    Further, underneath the <title>Title for This Great Website</title> tags you can put in your description tag <meta name="description" content="This great website is all about our great organization. We really rock and so you should check us out.">

    The title and description they are looking for has nothing to do with the content or body of your website, but instead tags that appear in the header that are commonly used to describe websites. They are also important in optimizing websites for search engine rankings.

    The problem is that the site uses frames And the top frame that the browser reads has no title. The title and all that you are reporting is on the frame.

    I can't see why you have used frames on this site, but that is your problem.

    The URL for the frame is http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/rexmakemsom/index.html and if you load this URL into a browser the title will be displayed.

    The page at http://www.myinnerlight.co.uk/ has no title. I don't see how this URL is being redirected, but that is what is happening.

    I have just realised that it is tables that I have in my document NOT Frames so the message that is given is a bit strange. If you look at the source then you can see there's not a frame there.

    Here is the source from http://www.myinnerlight.co.uk/. It sure talks about frames.
    <html>
    <head>
    <title></title>
    <meta name="Description" content="">
    <meta name="Keywords" content="">
    </head>
    <frameset rows="100%,*" border="0" frameborder="0" framespacing="0" framecolor="#000000">
    <frame src="http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/rexmakemsom/index.html" name="thepage">
    </frameset>

    <noframes>
    this site uses frames, if your browser does not support them click
    <a href="http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/rexmakemsom/index.html">here</a>
    </noframes>
    </html>

    And this is what the browser is loading and why there is no title on the site.

    Rex,

    <html>
    <head>
    <title></title>
    <meta name="Description" content="">
    <meta name="Keywords" content="">
    </head>
    <frameset rows="100%,*" border="0" frameborder="0" framespacing="0" framecolor="#000000">
    <frame src="http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/rexmakemsom/index.html" name="thepage">
    </frameset>
    <NOFRAMES>
    this site uses frames, if your browser does not support them click
    <A href="<A href="http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/rexmakemsom/index.html">here</A">http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/rexmakemsom/index.html">here</A>
    </NOFRAMES>
    </html>

    You may use propriatry software form your ISP to generate or display the pages.
    Thus your page is run via an initial frame see above within the frame is your normal page.

    This maybe specific to Tiscali as you may use their @free@ webspace and this allows them to point your page.

    <frame src="http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/rexmakemsom/index.html"
    It very much looks like you have not or you can not set up DNS / Nameserver and ISP/host space relation correctly.
    Tiscali should handle the correct resolution of your domain to the apropriate webspace without reverting to frames but you may have to pay for it.

    I haven't had time to check your domain set up.
    Domain runs on DNS/Nameserver resolves to IP IP finds matching entry on server resolving to web space (directory) web server os has entry for initial page usually index.htm or html

    Thank You - It would appear that you are correct. I have put the pages on a different server and all appears correct now... I will bring up the problem with Tiscali.

    Thanks again

    And even though you have a title tag... you may want to get a greater keword density into it...

    Currently= <TITLE>"Golden opportunity for a great tanning business very affordable"</TITLE>

    alot of wasted words maybe "Affordable Tanning Business Opportunity"

    or fit some other keyword up in there.
