1,000 of our brave men and women are returning from a place where they shouldn't even be. :)

Good news for British families, bad news for our DP Chickenhawk Armchair Rambo's. :)

I certainly hate this war but I am not a pull out immediately person.

It does point to radically different approaches in Iraq by American and British administrations at this time....albeit in different areas of the nation with different conditions and different tribal and religeous groups.

As 4500 British troops remain in Basra with a diminished role...and 100,000 + American troops remain in the Central and North parts of Iraq with a more active role....it will be interesting to see what happens.

I find little reporting on conditions in the South of Iraq in American sources.

I understand there is large scale battling among Shiites to determine which group will grab power.

Sometimes you have to pull out Earl, usually when you don't have any protection.

Yup....people used to wail that Nixon's father never pulled out.

Its interesting....Bush likes the "surge" concept rather than the "pull out" concept. Maybe it means he hasn't gotten enough. ;)

Well AGS. there are another 2500 pulling out in short order.

The Brits are effectively washing their hands from current and future involvement in Iraq. Existing troops are seriously not engaging warring Iraqi's and the troop levels are rapidly diminishing.

.....and there goes the last remains of the "Coalition of the Willing"....another one of those Bush administration sayings that was an example of the false sales pitch from the Bush administration.

I could have sworn the UK was already attempting to pull out all their troops, a couple months ago... Maybe I'm mistaken...

    That is great news Earl.

The corrupt neocon house of cards is being exposed for the sham that it is and support for this BS war is waning. :)
