Great post! Thanks... I wondered if somebody starts using these techniques and devotes eg 2 hours a day to them, how much time would it take before you can really see some results (ie new users coming to the site)? Are the effects immediate? Or does it take ages to see results? Thanks again!

I must say, this is an excellent list, I think that you have nearly gathered all of the ways. At www.email-marketing-tips.com we discusses what you have written here in far more detail and go into the specifics of what you must do to gather traffic.
All great tips, I would also suggest spinning articles and submitting the articles to directories, this will help increase the backlinks to your site.DO NOT spin articles with adsense on them.
Getting free traffic and nothing else is a recipe for diaster. Becoming a master at free traffic is all well and good but the rules of free traffic and Google constantly change. Panda/Penguin/EMD updates show this for ranking with Google. I'd say yes, definitely master some of the methods you mention but be prepared to access paid traffic sources and at all times BUILD THAT LIST.
