Some Free Directories Just Paid ?

No matter what quality of website I submit, I have noticed a trend that certain supposedly free directories keep rejecting me. It's hard not to think some of these free directories are getting a free ride by getting included in free directory lists and the like to get the free promotion, to only promote their paid submissions. Anyone else notice the same ? I don't get it. If the directory owner wants a reciprocal or only paid submissions, why not just be upfront about it and stop wasting everyone's time ?

all though it may seem funny, thats not the funny part, reply to the reject e-mail and ask what the reason for rejection is.

I agree with SasaVtec. Ask for the reason.

I sometimes ask them also for their submission guidelines because sometimes they are missing or not easy to find.

Why will they waste even more of their time responding to an email asking why.
If the directory is quality just pay them, directory owners offering free submission owe nobody nothing.

Have you checked the latest links? Where they paid listing (if it is possible).

I normally get accepted within a week. Since they see no money in their paypal account, I guess they play around with the free listing until they decide to press the accept or delete button (it is 50/50 chance).

Most of them aren't quality, but hey if it's a free link why not ...

Make sure you read their guidelines and your sites are not the one they don't allow.

Most submissions I rejects are wrong title, keywords, category and they didn't take a look of our submission guide.
