Hi, would appreciate if a few people could take a look at my website and help me out with positioning, blending, and whatever other tips you might have. The niche isn't high paying by any means so I'd like to maximize the traffic I do get. Around 70% of it comes from google searches. The screen shot below shows the past 2 weeks of activity which is about typical. Help?! pet-snakes.com is the site, sorry no live links yet
You can't do much better in terms of ad placement. Although moving the sidebar to the left should give you a boost
Well it's rather odd. With high number of impressions, you are only getting Alexa rank of 6093465. The placement looks all right. Maybe you want to move the top link unit lower - closer to your blog post and find out whether this will help. Just my suggestion...
Thanks I will give that a try and see what happens. I think my Alexa rank is low because for about 1.5 months I did nothing to promote the site and just let search engine traffic come in. Before that I was doing the usual (blog comments, forums, social bookmarking, etc, etc, etc) when I stopped obviously traffic died out and it's just within the past 3 or 4 weeks I've started doing it again. As far as I know Alexa looks over the course of the entire history so my guess is that would have an impact?
Is that any better? I made it so that the sidebar ad shows up only on the main page (http://pet-snakes.com) but a couple of button ads show up on the content pages instead (http://pet-snakes.com/taming-snake) for example.
i don't see adsense on your main page - put some below the header and above the content and put some on the right side bar
