Suggestion Some Enhancements in BST Marketplace!

This features will be very useful and will enhance the user's experience on DigitalPoint Marketplace:

Current Bids (Seller) feature in usercp which shows the list of your items for sale auction style, the current bids on each of them reserve met or not and time remaining.

Current Bids (Buyer) feature in usercp which shows the list of items the used bidded on, the current bid and the, winning or not, the BIN and time remaining. Ending auction notification via email (optional) or usercp for threads you have bidded on. Auto subscribe to a thread when you bid on it.

Multiple Purchases (Seller) A listing can be purchased multiple times without ending the auction, this can be turned on or off by the seller. The list of all BIN buyers publicly displayed except private ones(premium). It will also display number of available spots. Very useful when a limited number of identical (or similar) items are sold in a single thread. In this way everyone can BIN and pay via Instant Pay which your new reputation system counts as a reputation constraint.

Duplicate Thread Detection: Don't allow a user to list an item (domains, sites) when the marketplace has a record of that item listed by that user.

Multiple Domains Listing: Allow ability to put a list of domains for sale and display stats for all of them (just like stats for 1 domain are displayed) in a table form. Record all of the domains in the list to disable them from being listed by the same user again. most of the duplicate threads are generally different combinations of the lists of same domains.

Search Engine Hiding for everyone: Though this feature is already available for premium members, a lot of non premium members no not show the name of the domain/site in the listing afraid of being indexed by search engines. Indexing of your sales page can hurt your business more in domains and sites business than other ones. So allow everyone to hide their threads at least in these two section, thus they will be more free to share the names of the domains/sites sparing a lot lot of bumps like "I am interest PM me the domain name", "What is the domain name" etc. In this way sellers can also display the URLs without inserting bu||$hit symbols.

Ability to Unlock when bumping. Once I bumped one of my threads which was autolocked after the sale ended. Realizing that no one will bid on a closed thread, I reported it to ask a mod to reopen it. three days passed and the thread was still locked, and the sale ended. If I had the ability to reopen my own thread, I might have attracted some bids.

Limit on number of BST Threads per day and per month. I have seen people opening 20 threads at a time listing 1 domain each (each of them worthless and none of them attract a bid) and spoiling the whole section and pushing other new threads to second page within minutes. That should not happen. A strict rule of automated system is required to avoid this.

I second this, have seen people opening consecutive threads for same/similar services and then cyring 'why was I infracted!?'

infracted? Really? I reported dozens of threads a week earlier (very obviously duplicate threads). not even 10% of them removed/merged till now in a 5 days time, and I see some of them opening more of those duplicate threads each other day.

"People do not think that something is crime until they are caught and punished for that"

Did you try to bookmark those threads & revisit them after a week?
If a single user reports a tonne of threads, assume what about 100 users do, it'll take some time for the mods to arrest the criminals & tattoo infractions on their skin, be patient that's all I can say :)

It's already on the to-do list.

We've been testing the system that allows distribution of multiple copies of something digital.

The eBook marketplace is really just a testing ground for the platform. The plan is to extend it to other digital content types.

    http://marketplace.digitalpoint.com/ebooks.php

That has already been implemented in what I'll call our "Marketplace 2.0". :)

The new system allows only 1 domain per thread, so it solves that issue passively.

New system solves that problem as well because if you don't list the domain, you can't post a domain or site for sale. You also must verify site ownership before you can post it. This means 100% of new listings will have the right domain listed, because they can't leave it out and they must also verify ownership of the domain.

Fairly certain it already works that way. If you try it and it doesn't, let me know. If a thread was closed by the auto-close mechanism and it's relisted, it should open it. If the thread was closed for some other reason (like a mod/admin did it), it will NOT reopen it.

We will see how many useless sales are being posted when the poster is required to go through the trouble of verifying ownership on each and every domain. The reality is that "worthless" is subjective. *Someone* might be interested in it, even if it's not you or me.

BTW - there are going to be a lot more interesting changes as well... As far as a time frame (since I'm sure people are going to ask), there is no specific one set. Only "when it's ready", not before.

yes, I have txt list of all those threads, I kept reported for 3 consecutive days then gave up, coz more such threads evolve each day from both new and reputed users including the ones I have had reported already (but probably nothing happened).

and guess admin ingored these suggestions/

Thank you very much admin... Shame I did not read this thread in the meanwhile and just found that you had replied and actually accepted suggestions.
I had gave up domaining on DP because of invisibility of my genuine threads, hope it will be revived after marketplace 2.0 and sellers and buyers like me can be happy again.
