I'm working on a really big web project and need some ideas here, if you could take the time to answer a few questions it would really help: What color comes to mind when you think of the word "Sale"? What color comes to mind when you think of the word "Discount"? Basically I'm working on a shopping comparison engine and need some input on some coloring. Originally I was going with red, but I think that's because I looked at over a dozen similiar sites that use red so it's ingrained into my mind lol. Thanks for answering
It's not really known for certain which color persuades people to buy. However, a light shade of gray, and different shades of light to semi-dark blue and green makes a site more homey, more pleasing to the eye, which, in turn, may have them wanting to stay longer, thus increasing your odds of getting a sale. Neons, and too much yellow, orange, black and brown turns most people off. You should stick with just three colors on one particular page.
